DESCRIPTION: APW - Waltham, Grade 610 with rare "Marca Blanco" 24 hour dial, 7J, 16S, gold-plated OF case, white enamel SS dial with 1 to 24 hour indications around perimeter, 60 minute register around center, mvt geared for one hour hand revolution per day, SW-SS, nickel damascene, s#22961559. This rare and very eye-catching dial design by José María Blanco Rodríguez was granted design patent #4779 in Mexico on January 10, 1922; and in 1923 Rodríguez was to trademark the "Marca Blanco" name for watches sold in his establishment.
CONDITION: Mvt: Ticking sluggishly, overhaul recommended, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, plates with scattered micro-fine scratches, oxide to screw heads, regulator and click, few specks of oxide to winding wheels; excellent dial with pinpoint surface nick near 16 hour numeral, mild fine scratch above-right of center, tiny edge nick under bezel at right side, small area of edge rub under bezel at lower-left; fine hands, hour (longer hand) has been overpainted in black; case shows hardly any wear, few pinpoint nicks, excellent engraving detail; tight bow, crown shows very little wear; good glass crystal.
